When depicting boys and men, Antonina Domańska is well aware of the recipients and their needs. Her fictional characters are often teenage boys who find themselves in the middle of the action. Their adventures are building blocks of the plot and encourage the recipients to read on. The author focuses on the child’s naturę in the first place, and the principles come afterwards. Domańska depicts progressive, at the time, relations between adults and children. This note presents the summary and the analysis of citations, allusions and references to Plautus’s comedies in «The Last Days of Pompeii» by Edward Bulwer-Lytton. From the analysis here conducted it emerges that the English writer used Plautus for precise purposes, for ironic and satirical resolutions, appropriately contextualizing the allusions to Plautus within the plot of the novel.

There is one overriding objective in the literary oeuvre by U. Karatkevitch, namely that the writer tried to enliven and strengthen the weakened sense of national identity among the Belarusians. In the 1950s and the 1960s, it was far from easy in the USSR to encourage and propagate genuine and true Belarusian history, the beauty of the Belarusian language and Belarusian national identity. For his activities in this field, Karatkevitch was often stigmatized and punished. The article presents the hardships of the Belarusian writer, his struggles against censorship as well as unfavourable literary critics.

El present estudi ofereix una anàlisi de la recepció crítica de l’obra Crim de Germania, de l’escriptor valencià Josep Lozano, publicada per primera vegada a l’abril de 1980 per l’editorial Tres i Quatre, que permet fixar els elements a l’entorn dels quals s’ha anat elaborant la lectura de la novel·la i la seua evolució temporal. Durant més de trenta anys, Crim de Germania ha sigut objecte de nombroses valoracions crítiques a la premsa i en publicacions periòdiques de diversa índole a tot arreu dels territoris de parla catalana. Pēckara amerikāņu vēstures interpretācija Čanga Reja Lī romānā Nodotie

Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izanalizēt ASV vēstures reprezentāciju Čanga-reja Lī vēsturiskajā romānā Nodotie no transnacionālā viedokļa. Pētījuma mērķa sasniegšanai, tiek izmantotas tādas metodes kā žanra un teksta analīze, akcentējot uzmanību uz romāna tēmām un varoņiem, kā arī izmantojot transnacionālo pieeju konteksta interpretācijai. Empīriskajā daļā tiek apspriests kāpēc Nodotie pieder pie vēsturiskā romāna žanra. Turklāt, galveno varoņu traumatisko pieredžu un likteņu krustošanās nozīme romānā. Analizējot tiek noskaidrota romāna pozīcija Āzijas amerikāņu literatūrā, kā arī kādā veidā tā veicina ASV vēstures pārskatīšanu.

The forgotten work and life of Paulin Święcicki (1841–1876), a writer from Kiev region and active in Galicia, represents a rare, authentic example of Polish‑Ukrainian cultural border. His debut work entitled Przed laty.
